Cincinnati Enquirer Opening Day

Cincinnati Enquirer Opening Day

The Cincinnati Enquirer approached us about doing a shirt for their 175-year anniversary. And we were like, "for sure, but we've got one better."

The Enquirer wanted a throwback tee to commemorate a huge anniversary. And we wanted to build some buzz for the new shop. So having a presence at Cincy's Opening Day Parade was the perfect setting to reach both audiences. From repro papers distributed like newsies along the parade, to a Sweet Lou base-tossing contest, we created a flood of nostalgia, sold out of the tees and attracted a ton of new customers.

The Newspaper

A reproduction of the Enquirer's front page when the Reds won the Series in 1990 graced the cover. Inside showcased our Reds collection and the Enquirer's vintage tee. These were distributed from newsie bags in and around the stadium during the Opening Day parade.

Base-Tossing Contest

Selling merch at an event like everyone else isn't good enough. Paying homage to Lou Piniella ('90 Manager) with an irreverent contest is.
